OH MY GOD! I GREW SOMETHING! I AM A GOD

I bought seeds for a loofah (luffa) plant (yeah! you grow one and make your own loofah sponge out of it!) on etsy a while back. I planted them somewhere in one of my potted geraniums out on the front porch. Weeks and weeks went by without any sign of growth. I gave up and figured it wouldn't grow because I'm such a black thumb.

WELL, yesterday as I was picking all the dead flowers and leaves off a geranium, I noticed a green vine... which lead to a really long green vine! It must be the loofah! I don't know how it happened, but some how I managed not to kill it. I feel like a new parent- I'm treating it so carefully, I'm afraid I'll do something to accidentally damage it. I don't know what to do with the vines... they have those spiral-y tendrils that were grabbing on to the geraniums. Do they need, like, some sort of mini trellace or something?

I really, really, really hope I don't kill it! I want a DIY loofah!

Last night's The Office:

Creed: Let's put a smile on that face!

Oscar: ...

This is my first Halloween giving out candy to trick-or-treaters at my apartment. I feel like such an adult! Emily had carved a jack-o-lantern and I put it out on my porch. We only got a few bunches of kids so far, half of them being from the ghetto on the other side of Central and not wearing costumes, but whatever. It's still exciting! As expected, Terry is "not doing Halloween" again this year. He put saw horses up on his porch like barricades. We saw on the news that convicted child molesters have to put up signs on their doors that say "No candy at this address" or something to that effect, so we are wondering if Terry is a child molester, or just a grump. He came to my door to ask if we were giving out candy, and we said yes, and he said "Even though it's the day after my birthday, it's just not worth it at this residence..." Dan asked what that meant, and then Terry paused and said something about the dark barking or something... weird.

I finished Dan's costume and I have a few things left to do on mine and then we're heading down to the Cider House's Halloween party. I wish Halloween lasted all week!
